Course Policy – In-Person Training
Important information before you book
By booking any in-person Course with AB nails, you agree to follow the rules below, together
with our full Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Please read this page carefully before you make a booking or pay a deposit.
1. Who our Courses are for
Our in-person training is designed for:
- existing nail technicians who want to improve their skills; and/or
- beginners who meet the entry requirements stated in the Course description.
Each Course description will say:
- the level (beginner / intermediate / advanced),
- what previous experience or certificates (if any) are recommended,
- what you can expect to learn.
If you are unsure whether a Course is suitable for you, please email info@abnails.co.uk before
booking.
2. Booking and payment
- Places are limited for all Courses. Your place is only confirmed once payment has been
received (deposit or full payment, depending on the booking option).
- When you book, you are reserving a place for a specific date, time and location.
- You are responsible for providing correct contact details (name, email, phone number). All
Course information will be sent to the details you provide at checkout.
We reserve the right to refuse a booking or training to anyone at our discretion (for example
in cases of inappropriate behaviour or repeated no-shows).
3. Deposits and remaining balance
For some Courses you can secure your place with a non-refundable deposit and pay the remaining
balance on the Course date.
- The deposit secures your place and is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable if you:
- change your mind,
- cannot attend,
- arrive late and cannot be accepted into the class,
- leave early,
- or do not complete the Course for any reason.
- The remaining balance must be paid in full before the Course starts on the Course date, using
the payment methods we accept.
If you do not pay the remaining balance before the Course starts, we may refuse to allow you to
attend and your deposit will be lost.
For some Courses we may require full payment in advance instead of a deposit. This will be
clearly stated in the Course description.
4. Changing or cancelling your booking
Because places are limited and we prepare for each student in advance:
- Course deposits and Course fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where we
cancel or significantly change the Course, or where UK law requires a refund.
- If you:
- change your mind,
- decide not to attend,
- arrive late,
- leave early,
- or do not complete the Course,
you will not normally be entitled to a refund, credit or transfer to another date.
Any special arrangements or exceptions (if offered) will be confirmed by us in writing and are
at our discretion.
5. Course changes or cancellation by AB nails
In rare cases we may need to:
- change the Course date, time, trainer or location; or
- cancel the Course (for example due to illness, emergencies, venue issues or low numbers).
If this happens, we will contact you as soon as we can using the details you provided and
offer:
- another suitable date or option; or
- a refund of the Course fee you paid for that booking (including deposit).
We are not responsible for any additional costs you may incur, such as:
- travel or accommodation,
- loss of income,
- childcare or other arrangements.
6. On the day of your Course
Please make sure that you:
- arrive on time for the Course start time given in your confirmation,
- allow extra time for travel, parking and finding the location,
- follow any instructions about dress code (for example comfortable clothing, minimal
jewellery, tied-back hair).
If you are late:
- we may not be able to accept you into the class if it would disrupt the training or other
students,
- your deposit and/or Course fee may be lost, and you may not be offered a new date.
You are responsible for your own travel plans and being ready to start on time.
7. Models and practice work
Course descriptions will state whether:
- you need to bring your own model,
- models are provided,
- or you will work on practice tips / yourself.
If you are required to bring a model, it is your responsibility to:
- find a suitable model,
- ensure they are available for the full time requested,
- make sure they do not have any conditions or contraindications that would prevent the
treatment (for example certain infections, allergies, health conditions).
If your model does not arrive, leaves early or is not suitable to work on, this may limit how
much hands-on practice you can do, and this is not a reason for a refund.
8. What to bring
Each Course description will explain what is included and what you should bring, for example:
- your own tools, brushes or e-file,
- a notebook and pen,
- any specific equipment we ask for.
If you are unsure what is needed, please email info@abnails.co.uk before the Course.
You are responsible for your own belongings during training; we are not liable for loss or
damage to your personal items.
9. Behaviour and respect
We aim to create a respectful, professional and safe learning environment. We expect all
students to:
- be polite and respectful to the trainer and other students,
- follow instructions carefully, especially regarding safety,
- not behave in a way that is aggressive, disruptive or unsafe.
We may ask you to leave the Course (without refund) if your behaviour is inappropriate, unsafe
or seriously disruptive.
10. Filming, photos and sharing information
To protect our methods and to respect other students:
- Filming and audio recording are not allowed during the Course (this includes phone video,
audio, screen recording, live streaming, etc.).
- You may take photos where allowed and write your own notes, for your personal learning only.
You must not:
- share, copy or distribute Course materials, explanations, photos of the trainer’s work or
demonstrations,
- send our content to others (including by messages, groups, cloud drives or social media),
- use our content to create your own trainings, manuals or online Courses that copy our
methods.
All Course content, explanations, techniques and materials remain the intellectual property of
AB nails.
11. Health, safety and contraindications
Your safety and the safety of models and other students is very important. You must:
- inform us of any relevant health conditions, allergies or concerns before or at the start of
the Course,
- follow all hygiene and safety instructions carefully,
- only use tools and products during the Course as directed by the trainer.
If we believe that a treatment, product or technique is not safe for you or your model, we may:
- adjust or stop the treatment,
- refuse to proceed with a particular practice step.
We are not responsible for any issues arising if you fail to tell us important medical or
health information.
12. Certificates
If you attend and complete the Course and meet any requirements we set (for example practice
work or basic competence during training), you may receive a certificate of completion issued
by AB nails.
- The certificate confirms that you have completed training with AB nails.
- It is not a state qualification, academic degree or regulated qualification.
Certificates are issued at our discretion and may be withheld if, for example:
- you do not attend the full Course,
- you do not participate in required practical work,
- your behaviour is inappropriate or unsafe.
13. Insurance and working on clients
After the Course, you are responsible for:
- arranging your own insurance to work on clients,
- meeting any legal, local or professional requirements in your area,
- practising and applying the techniques safely and correctly.
We cannot provide insurance for you and cannot guarantee that any particular insurer will cover
you. You should check directly with your chosen insurer what they require before booking
training, if this is important for you.
We are not responsible for:
- the quality of your work after the Course,
- any issues or complaints from your clients,
- any damage, injury, loss or claims arising from services you provide.
14. After the Course
Your progress after training depends on:
- your own practice,
- how often you work on models or clients,
- your previous experience and natural ability.
We are happy to answer reasonable follow-up questions related to the Course by email, but this
does not include unlimited ongoing mentoring or support unless it is clearly included in the
Course description.
