Chipping usually happens at the free edge because of thin structure, poor sealing, or under-curing.

  • Prep matters: remove all cuticle residue and cleanse properly before product.
  • Apply thin, even layers  too thick = weak cure and easy chips.
  • Seal the free edge with base + colour + top (cap, don’t overload).
  • Keep the free edge strong: don’t over-file it too thin after shaping.
  • Cure correctly: use the right lamp and full cure time for your system.
  • Avoid contamination: don’t touch the nail after dehydrator/primer.
  • Top coat technique: float it smoothly and cap the edge for protection.
  • Match the system to lifestyle: hands in water/cleaning = stronger base + better sealing.
